I recently traded in a 28ft 5th wheel for a 34 foot TT.

Both setups have their pluses and minuses.

5th Wheel -
Pro: much easier to hook up, much less susceptible to sway.
Con: huge hitch in the bed, most 5th wheels are MUCH taller than a TT.
This is why we switched back to a TT. The extra height of the FW makes it harder to tow at Interstate speeds, reducing gas mileage.

Also, the TT is more generally maneuverable than the 5th wheel. The geometry of the FW setup makes it trickier to back into very tight spaces. Also, the FW does not follow the same track as the TV around a corner and made getting around tight corners with trees in smaller State Parks challenging. I find the TT, even 6 feet longer, easier to maneuver in tight spaces.

Having the bed of the truck back for bikes, etc is a nice change of pace now having a TT again.

Just my 2 cents worth...
