Like John said^, a lot of folks find that a pair of 2,000+/- watt inverter generators work well. We're just back from 4,000 mile round trip to eastern seaboard. While on the road or stopped for awhile we of course get full hook-ups. But we did 3 NASCAR races which 2 of them had no hook ups. We used 2 Honda 2,000's paralleled with no issues. We didn't need A/C with the cool rainy weather. We have a residential refrigerator so I have to keep the batteries well charged. I usually started both gens in the morning and ran them both 2-3 hours and then just one until about 9 pm. Worked well.
