You can add the door latch, metal will last longer. Best way is to hold the slot piece on the door at the lower edge, open the door and make sure the hook doesn’t interfere with anything.

If you look at the exterior J wrap, the top edge that’s tucked into is called the belt line. As a rule it’s solid just above it and if it coincides with the door frame you should be okay. If possible at least 2 of the screws in the door should be through the frame since the door is just styrofoam with a metal frame.
