It is very iimportant that you confirm the energy you are feeling using a meter and confirm the source.
I assembled a metal shed under power lines once. Leaned against a wall and got a serious jolt across the more sensitive areas of my bare chest. Grounded the dam thing before I finished building it.

Not a bad idea to see where it is coming from. Better idea is something like a PI surge protector.
