My DW is OK with the compass rose but lousy at map reading. On the first trip together she looked at the map and said "Let's go to XYZ it's just a little ways off the route." I made the turn and after about 1/2 hr I pulled over and looked at the map. I said I thought this was close? Her reply ...."it's only about an inch away on this map". She was looking at a map of the "Eastern United States" and I politely (I'm not STUPID) said honey, look at the scale on the bottom of the map one inch = 100 miles.
She packs for a weekend like the first class passengers did on the Titanic. But in twenty days we'll celebrate our 41st. wedding anniversary so I guess I'll try to hold on for the duration.
