Your trailer battery will charge if the shore power cord is plugged into a live circuit. It will also charge as you drive as long as the "charge line" is active. Some vehicles come with this set up, some have the charge line present but not connected.

If your using a generator to power things in the trailer, then you can get an adaptor that will allow the 30A shore cord to plug into the 30A outlet on the gen if it has one. You could also run the gen to power a battery charger and just connect the charger wires to the battery.
