I added this to the truck today to keep the youngest from bashing his head with the tailgate.

Simple install, but you need a 50 Torx socket and a torque wrench. I did have to paint and clear coat it, which added to the cost. Local auto paint shop mixed a rattle can of Magnetic Metallic for me for under $30.

I had the DeeZee version on the old truck, but this is a much slicker design. The DeeZee kept breaking the nutzert and ball after the 1st couple of years. I always thought the cble was putting pressure on the DeeZee strut.
