We have a similar layout (Passport 240BH), but that compartment is 28” deep. I made drawers on part of the top shelf. Roughed out the drawer fronts for our current 3 week vacation trip but I have better looking ones to pop on when we get home. Each goes the full depth of the compartment and each runs on dual 100 lb. bearing drawer slides. The bottom one we have things like tablecloths, clips, and various other things we need to take out before popping in the sink spout. The top one we can access any time, and it has plates, napkins, pot holders, frying pans, coffee filters, coffee, can opener, bottle opener, etc.
