FYI, I just heard back from ASA (maker of the iN-Command system) and they confirmed what I suspected (and hoped), that YES it should work fine with a different brand for the second unit as long as both can communicate properly with the iN-Command system. It will probably be about a month or so before I get around to installing the second unit; I'll update afterwards and let you know how it works!
