Matt if it were me that would be back at the dealer. It appears Phil Bob didn't make it through the 2nd page of Ned's "easy wiring at home for 3rd graders" guide. Phil Bob, at the dealer, did that. Oh, and why would you need a vent with a half dozen holes drilled all in the box? Sheesh.

I have a double battery box with the top screwed to the bottom, sealed and a vent coming out the top. My primary power cables go to power cable attachments through the top of the box (pos/neg and sealed) with cables attached on the top from the trailer and short ones underneath from the battery to the underside. It's a good set up allowing me to pull the top off the batteries (have to bend the thick power cables) and do what you need to do but still leave everything clean. Go find the dealership owner, find Phil Bob and read him Ned's "easy wiring guide"....or whatever you happen to choose...
