You probably only need a 30 amp voltage/surge protector. Many of us use the

Yes, I have a 200 watt Zamp portable panel and 1000w inverter. Works great but read up on solar before investing.

I have a Dish Tailgater, not very expensive (<$300) and is only $7/month if you already have Dish. DTV has similar options also.
