Mine came out in a few manageable pieces and the base was secured to the floor with about four screws. The back unbolted from the hinges and the pull out was also hinged. I put cardboard on my floor to protect it and removed screws and bolts. The mechanisms are pretty simple, I also found some loose hardware.
