Axles can handle 12,000 lb but springs only 10,000. OEM springs sheared (by the shackle) on two different occasions causing much anxiety. Lucky we were able to limp to repair shop to replace. I've now installed 4 new 3,000 lb rated springs. Put about 4,000 miles on this setup with no issues.
The trailer's certification label - found on external surface, FWD, LH side of trailer - will have the official GAWR rating for the axles. It doesn't make any difference if they have been upgraded or not, the official rating will not change.
