Different laws in Michigan, so what you're doing is NOT an option here. The "paperwork issue" I was talking about is the MANUFACTURER'S GVW decal. That "once, for all time and forever" limits the truck GVW to 10,500 pounds. You can't, at a later date, declare the truck GVW at 11,500 pounds and stick on a new decal to make it a "legal GVW".... For the OP that I was addressing in that post, it won't impact him because he won't, with current intended use, need a GVW greater than 10,500.
