Don't know how I made it driving on those old tube type nylon tires in the '60's. I ran some Casler cheater slicks on the '66 GTO I had. 8.50x14 and were re-caps. Never came apart on the highway or track at speeds of over 100mph. When the 2 small groves in the tread wore down I did spin out in the rain. Drove home about 60 miles away and put a set of Prowler Eliminator tires front and rear. Later got a set of M&H ripplewalls for track use only!! Probably in the 70's when I got my first set of radials.
