Going for the Springdale 187

Greetings .. I served in the USAF for some 24 years. Lived in England for about 18 of those and joined the "Royal" Camping and Caravanning club.! We left England in 1993 and also left our small UK spec'd van.

I am a few years from retirement when I intend to purchase a much larger highway style ( 29' and greater) .. right now, we want a smaller RV that will navigate the Pacific Northwest narrow dirt roads to our favorite seldom used mountain campgrounds.

In 2008, we got a Toyota Tundra LTD, 5.7 V8, rated at about 10K. Wonderful truck, by the way, the rear view camera makes hooking up my boat trailer a one person job.

So trying to get the most bang for buck and not wanting anything much over 20 feet, we spec'd out a 2010 Springdale 179QBWE for about $15K.

At first blush, it seems to be well equipped for boondocking (60 Gallons Fresh) and plenty of propane for a 2 or 3 night trip. Pretty sure we will want to replace the factory queen mattress with something more sturdy, but the view out the back window really makes this small TT seem bigger than it is.

Any comments?
