Tow capacity is horizontal pull. It's a largely useless number because the real limitation you hit first is always payload capacity (tongue weight).
Dry weights are also useless; calculate the tongue weight as about 12% of the max (gross) trailer weight, then add it to the weights of all the people and any van cargo, and subtract that total from the max payload on the yellow doorframe sticker. My guess is that the result will be a large negative number.
