We have a 2006 F350 short bed dually, Montana High Country 305RL, with an Andersen Ultimate fifth wheel hitch. I can turn very sharp with this setup. The Fords have the longest short beds of all the trucks. They are 6' 9". If I had a slider, I would want to try to use it occasionally just because I spent the money on it. But I think I will be able to put the fiver in any spot that it "should" fit anyway. I didn't want to deal with any "clunk", and a super heavy hitch to take out from time to time.
