I had a similar problem with a door to the storage area on a passport. It leaked, I replaced the seal, still leaked. I am not sure how your door is constructed but here's what I found....

Same thing happened here. The water was comming in around the edge of the door and the skin of the door. Added a bead of caulk around the door and no more water in the compartment.

Huskey Centerline. It's brand new on the market. It tows great. The only disadvantage is the weight of the head. It's really heavy. Check it out.
