2 possibilities, the Aux button on dvd player was not on.
My TV has two similar audio inputs, I used the one that with the headset icon.
Other than that, I have no idea why it wouldn't work.

I just removed our table with 4 chairs. It had 4 wood screws, to the floor. I then removed the top from the base, 6 wood screws. I replaced it with a 5'x22" table.
