You can see the 2nd strip here. Disregard how messy my roof is on my trailer, and not sure why half my caulking is white and the other is attracting dirt, 2 different tubes of the exact same sealant....

i would be concerned with that. Any shorts in the boat? Is it hot to the touch? did it go away after you tightened it? Doesnt look like a sealed battery, is the water low?

I 2nd this, pretty similar to what I do as well except i dont have 6 volt batteries. I have 3 trailers I have run this way for the last few years without issue.
