Alignment of the bar on your Excursion to the Arrow is critical for an easy hook up. I did use a piece of wood in the Arrow to help align it for proper connection to the Excursion bar.

I mounted scissor jacks just in front of the tires and take the spring bounce out. you can try with two bottle jacks and see if it does the trick for you.

Ref the foot valve not returning. Try loosening the anchor bolts 1/4 to 1/2 a turn and see if it stops binding.
