Back when I pulled a small trailer with a motorcycle, I used wax paper. I carried this practice over to my bigger trailers of today. A nice clean ball and no mess to deal with.

That tool is used with a drill on a cable slide. I used mine recently, and it worked like a charm. My hook up location was inside, above the slide, behind the valance.

Yes, I'm right down the road from you. I searched online, and found a way to make a tool that worked, using a bolt, oversized nut and a knurled washer. It worked out great. I used Stainless Jack Nuts.

I know this thread is a year old, just wanted to say that I mounted my RDS with Jack Nuts. Makes removing the tank a 1 person job. I haven't taken the tank all the way out, but I have taken the bolts...
