Maybe they drilled a hole, missed the stud, moved over and installed a screw that "hit the mark." It is easy to overtighten a screw and strip out the aluminum stud so maybe some gun-shy assembler...

If you are shopping for a plug and the cable goes through a hatch on the trailer, make sure that the plug is not too big to fit. Some have an oversize handle that will not fit!

Look for "Maximum Conventional Trailer"...

Look for "Maximum Conventional Trailer" specification on the yellow sticker. I don't think it has any bearing on ability to pull up hills however.
