We bought our Cougar High Country 299RKS in April. We had already decided the 2003 Tundra was not a good TV for our 5500 lb TT and I was planning to replace it with an F150. I wasn't excited about the prospect of my daily 70 mile commute with a large V8, but the 4.7 Tundra was only getting me 16-17 and only 8 mpg towing. The DW vetoed a 2010 purchase and that turned out great as Ford announced the EcoBoost F150 for 2011. While camping in 9/2011, a new F150 5.0L camped next to us with a Jayco Eagle 29.5RKS and we fell in love with the floor plan. The owners said it towed like a dream, just add airbags "bouncey:. So I got the F150 EB with Max Tow in November, and started researching the F150 Forum on fiver towing. My research told me the 1600-1700 lb pin weight of the Jayco was too much for my truck, that the Pullrite SuperGlide weighed 300 lbs, but I would probably need something for the cab clearance and discovered the Reese Sidewinder pin box. The DW still wanted the Jayco, but we stopped in at Pete's RV and discovered the Cougar HC 299RKS had the same floor plan with almost 300 lbs less pin weight! The DW approved and we traded the TT in on one. Towed about 3000 miles last year and are delighted with both the towing and living experience. Going in the door just feels like home.

Welcome, fellow Vermonter! We are planning on pulling our rig home this summer for a nice vacation so we can enjoy the festivities of the Champlain Valley Fair! Can't wait to watch the pig races and to play Fat Albert!

Hey, thanks! We are planning a trip to Albuquerque this summer and to Virginia before that. I love taking our own bed with us and not living out of suitcases.

That's why we love RVing. We know everything we touch is clean and just like home. No restaurants to waste our money at either!
