Hey y'all, I've got a 29' 294rls cougar TT and I have 4 exterior lights, one by the tongue, an orange one by the back door, and two round white lights, one by the front, the other on the back. The only one I can get to work is the tongue mount cause it has its own switch, the other three I assume are the three switches inside the coach by the back door, but when I turn the switches on nothing happens?? Checked breakers, looked for tripped GFI plugs, can't find anything. Was wondering if any of you could shed some light, :) , no pun intended on this matter. Thanks!

A picture of your switches would help, but, on our Cougar, the amber light under the steps is tied to the 'porch light' switch and the large white light (only one on our 5er) is controlled by the 'flood light' switch. Do the lights work via the remote?

These lights will not be on a breaker. They are controlled by the a 12 volt fuse. You should have a row of plug-in fuses next to the breakers that control the 12 volt circuits. You may have a small red light next to each fuse, if this light is on the fuse may have blown.

I'll check the fuses, these switches have no names on them, just on/off, two by the slideout switch, and one on the cabinet across from it, right near the door. I'll check fuses and see whats up. Thanks for the suggestions.(tx)

Any of your exterior lights that look like this:
http://www.rvpartscountry.com/thumbnail.asp?file=assets/images/graphics/558/250/558086_silo.jpg&maxx=428&maxy=398

they may have a switch on the fixture.
This switch needs to be ON for the interior switch to work.
They generally are not wired like a residential three-way.

Exterior lights that look like this:

are most likely controlled by an interior switch only.

Some or all of the exterior lights may also be on the remote control if you
have one. Mine are not, but others do have them on the remote.

Other things to check:

Blown 12vdc fuse. None of these lights are on a fuse by themselves so
you should have other stuff not working if there is a blown fuse. Also,
the red light next to the fuse on the fuse panel will be lit if the fuse is out.

Blown light bulb. You'll have to pull the cover on the fixture to check this.

If all else fails, and you have checked EVERY switch you can find several times plus the fuse and the bulb, then (and only then) should you think about pulling the fixture to check for a loose connection.
