Just bought a used Cougar 24RKS, how do you service the exterior? Do you wax it? What is the best product to use? Thanks

First, welcome to the forum. Secondly, this topic has been previously discussed in great detail and if you do a forum search there are numerous threads and feedback about RV waxes, cleaners and polishes for you to browse through. I'd suggest you use our search feature and see what already exists for you to read and get a handle on various products that our members use.

Tons of opinions here on the forum ...

Basically, if the finish has been kept up and has not oxidized, all you have to do is keep a good coat of good wax or polish on it and keep it clean.

If the surface has already started to oxidize, you may be able to buff it out, but most seem to switch to an acrylic finish like Red Max Pro

We purchased our trailer in Nov., I believe they manual says wax once yearly. Sold a Artic Fox after 10 years and never waxed it, it was covered afew winters only. I did not see any problems without waxing. I have 3 vehicles and boat to wax several times per year, never found time with the RV. Washed before/after use wih car soap and streak cleaner.

Thanks for the information. It hasn't started oxidizing yet so it may have been waxed in the past, I will put a coat on ASAP to protect it for the future. Thank you all for the help you have made me feel welcome.

The generic owners manual is available for download on Keystone's website. I believe it has some info on care and maintenance of the exterior surfaces.

You may also want to learn more about maintenance of your rubber roof. There are a bunch of threads here and plenty of info on the manufacturer's website dicor.com

Thanks Stevec7010 I just down loaded the manual and went to dicor and watched the video on roof maintenance. I am picking up the trailer tomorrow hopefully I will all the original instruction manuals. Thanks again.

Because your trailer is used, it may or may not have the Owner's Manual as well as some of the others dealing with appliances, A/C, furnace, fridge, stove, Converter, pump, etc. There are no schematics involving electrical or plumbing - you're on your own here!
If you can't find a manual for an item, it can usually be found and downloaded online from the manufacturer's website.
