I am new to 5th wheelers. Now have an older class A. I have been looking at used 2005 Challengers and see that they apparently are discontinued from the line.
Why? :)

Thanks,
Windmill Bob

First of all, :wlcm: to the Forum. We're glad you decided to join us and we look forward to hearing about your camping experiences and about your Challenger.

As for why Keystone dropped that RV line, who knows. To my knowledge, nobody from Keystone monitors this forum, nor do they have any representative here to answer corporate related quesitons. So, your guess is probably as good as anyone else's on why that decision was made.

At any rate, if you do decide that is the RV you want, look it over carefully, download the PDI inspection checklist and use it as a guide to help you inspect your new purchase. The checklist may even help identify any problems with the trailer that you may have otherwise missed.

We are happy to have you join us and wish you happy camping.

:wlcm: from out west and glad you joined us. I also can not answer your question on why Keystone discontinued the Challenger but I can tell you that they are a well built trailer. We had a 2004 29rkp that we loved and never had an issue with it at all. As mentioned above, look it over real good, check for delam in the siding, check axels for straightness, tire wear etc. Good Luck. Happy Campin.........

Don't quote me, but Challengers were originally made by Newmar (I think as the Managers of our park have one) then picked up by Keystone (one parked right next to us). My guess would be that they were in direct competition with Montana and since Montana has been on the top of the heap for the past 9 or 10 years the Challenger went by the way side. They suffer some of the same problems as Montana with peeling front decals. The one next to us looks very similiar to a Montana. That's about all I know, good luck.
