Tow Truck Needed

Hi everyone. Just purchased a 2008 Fuzion 393 5th wheel. Now I need a truck to pull it! Looking very seriously for a 2013 Chevrolet Silvarado 2500HD duramax diesel, Alison tranny, air bags, 2WD, ext cab. I know that we could get something bigger ex 3500, dulley or 4WD but this will also be our 2nd vehicle. My question is will the 2500 do the job? Appreciate any help. Thanks

That's a lot of trailer for even a 3500 single wheel rear. When loaded (18,000 lbs GVW) you will be well beyond the limits of a 2500. JM2¢, Hank

I don't like to be the bearer of bad news :( but I really think you should seriously reconsider looking at a 2500 to "do the job". I would agree with Hankpage in that you should be looking at a 3500 - preferably a dually.

I agree with the others -- that's a lot of 5th wheel for a 2500/250 truck, and it's unlikely you'll be happy with that combo.
Given that the 393 is a toyhauler, and over 39 ft LONG, it would be wise to consider a Dually.

I've seen 2500's pull this type of rig, but personally i wouldn't. Agreed 3500... Ram Dually (Oops! Sorry my bias coming out). :-)

I went round and round about this myself and ended up with 2012 Chevy Crewcab 3500HD longbed dually 4x4 with the duramax/Allison combo. It is also our daily driver. There are some spots that are sticky when trying to park but after a while you will learn to thread that beast like a needle through the tightest spots before you know it!

I have to agree with everyone else, you're in 1 ton dually territory. Just because some will pull it with a 250/2500 doesn't make it right or safe.
