BAL Power Pack for stabilizer jack.

I was looking at these power packs for the stabilizer jacks on my TT. I found them for $262.00 per set on Amazon. For over $1,000, should I just continue to use my electric impact wrench or are they really worth the money?

"Are they really worth the money?" I guess it depends upon (a) what price you want to place on "convenience"; and (b) the size of your bank account. If the slightly reduced time and effort you might save in having the power packs/jacks is important to you, then I suppose it might be worth the money.

However, I am thinking that you won't be really saving yourself a lot of time and effort by forking out over $1000 for these power packs. How much time and effort does it take to lower and raise the jacks using your electric impact wrench? Probably not much. How much will this be reduced by the power packs? A minute or two? What's the rush?

I guess I am old fashioned. I have two rear stabilizers on the 5th wheel which I raise and lower by hand. Yes, by hand using the hand crank. I suppose if I were to use a cordless drill I might cut off a minute or two. This "old" method works for me and I'm happy. Other people use a cordless drill and it works for them and they are happy.

Personally, there are a lot of RV goodies on which would rather spend a $1000+ and IMHO these power jacks aren't worth the $$$$. Your choice.

Festus, I'm with you. I would be winding mine by hand if i hadn't had the electric impact left over from my racing days.
Well, I did figure out this much, it would only by just over $500, that price of 262 was for a set of two. If I didn't already have the impact, I may have given it more consideration.
Besides, if I have a flat, the impact wrench will be more useful.
