Next time, try finding a place I can pronounce. But if you're boon docking, then I guess the name doesn't mean much more than "middle of nowhere." Stay warm!

I'm amused to think of the concept of "boondocking" in an Alpine. It's about as rough as being in a hotel without room service. Unless, of course, you run low on power and can't watch your big screen TV.

It's almost as funny as you calling it "camping."

Was a great time. Sat/Sun morning temps around 28. Fri/sat/sun highs around 55-60. Couldn't have asked for more beautiful weather.

Furnace was set at around 55 Friday night, but it did not come on. Woke up and camper was 38 inside.

Have plenty of propane and 12v... Messed with thermostat a bit and fired up. Think tomorrow ill disassemble to see if something is loose. Worked sat night just fine.

Really liking the LED lights!!

Fun! We just got back from our weekend at the beach. Highs in the mid 80s. We had to fire up the AC a few times. Good thing we had electricity and water. Bummer about your lack of heat. We had that while boon docking at 25 degrees night temperature, but that was due to insufficient battery muscle. Boondocking is awesome, but we really need to up our battery capacity. We just can't fire up the generator in a campground whenever we please.

I'm thankful I live in a place where we can camp year-round.

Javi -

Actually, Broken Bow is one of the best in Oklahoma. And though Green Country (NE Oklahoma) is nice, and around Skiatook and Owasso is nice, I would recommend Lake Tenkiller or Grand Lake of the Cherokee before north of Tulsa or even Kaw Reservoir. And by now, wait until spring!

Did you have the thermostat fan setting on AUTO?
On mine, if you have the fan on Lo or Hi, it won't work with the Heater or A/C.

Hey now, I quite enjoy my oversize hotel room while dry camping. My bones don't want to sleep on the ground anymore!! If you got to do it, you should do it this way. The people around us call the montana our castle. HA

I've had the same experience as you with waking up and the heater never came on during the night.

It was freezing in that RV and it was snowing outside.

Ours just ran out of propane during the night - duh, didn't realize it was running low !

Yes. Even tried other settings to be sure.

What I found was that if I pressed on the temperature selector/slider just a bit, the fan came on and it lit... If I did not press on the slider a bit, only the fan would run... No ignition... And then likely the timeout for no fire would cause the furnace to shut down.

The best thing about boon docking in an OLD camper was the fuel oil heater. Totally quiet and WARM!! top bunk 100+ bottom bunk 28 degrees Almost miss those days
