We have a 2012 Cougar Lite 27RKS 5th Wheel (GVWR - 10,000#/ GAWR - 4,440)#, and are pulling it with a 2004 Chevy 2500 4wheel drive 6.0engine 373gears truck (GVWR - 8,600#/ GAWR: Frt-4,410#, Rear-6,000#/ Truck wgt w/ hitch, full gas, driver - 6,140#). We have not pulled our Cougar in the mountains. Anyone know if we are good with this combo ??

:wlcm: to the forum from one Hoosier to another. We hope you have many fun trips in your new trailer. As for pulling that with your truck... personally even though the truck will probably pull it, it might be a little slow going do to the lack of torque in the 6.0. A set of higher gears would help if you plan on doing a lot of that type of driving. I personally switched from gas to diesel and have had no issues pulling 9000 lbs plus in the mountains.

With that rear gear it will have to wind up going up hills but it will be safe.
