Has anyone mounted a front hitch on your TV to use for a bike rack? I have a cover on my truck which keeps me from putting the bikes in the bed. I usually just put the kids bikes in the camper and leave my wife's and mine at home.

That's what I was wondering. I have a 2003 F150 4x4 supercrew. I didn't know if I would have to remove any of the front valance to get it on.

It's pretty easy to install a Curt front hitch receiver. Here's the link to installation instructions:

https://www.curtmfg.com/masterlibrary/31038/installsheet/CM_31038_INS.PDF

Essentially all you have to do is remove the front tow hooks, install the hitch in those holes and reinstall the tow hooks. There's no mention of cutting/removing any of the bumper fascia.

Cost at Curt.com is about $300 but you should be able to find it cheaper at an online dealer or Amazon.com

Yes I put a 2 in. hitch on the front of my F150 to back the 33 ft TT into the shed and it works great ! it could be used for a bike rack or also to launch a boat reak quick .

I read somewhere that putting the bike rack and two bikes upfront may cause the truck to over heat. Less air flow to the radiator. I have a 2011 Chevy 2500 and wanted to do this mod also.

Has anyone heard of or had problems from the front bike rack??

Depends on the engine and the load you put in front of the radiator. If you think about it, most truck's have a vinyl "block" available to put in front of the grill to prevent "overcooling" during the winter. Not needed everywhere, but available and used in cold areas.

Do your homework and you should be good to go.
