Just purchased a 2010 Alpine 3450 rl. Any information I can get on the security lighting and keyless entry would be appreciated. Door locks with keyless but will not unlock. Cannot get outside lights on no matter what I try and nothing works auto at nite. Otherwise awesome unit and looking forward to some long stays. Thanks for your help.

I own a 2011 Alpine 3500RE. There are two switches that control the outside light above the door. One inside the control cabinet with all the other switches, and the other mounted at floor level just inside the door. I believe they are wired as 3 way switches. Try a on-off-on squence. That should turn the light on even in the daytime. Has the bulb been verified a being good?

As to your door not unlocking. Try cleaning the contacts on the door frame and the door itself. As a last resort try replacing the battery in the key pad. The key pad is held on with double sided tape that will release with a little friendly tug. Good luck.

Thanks will give it a try. Are the two large circular lights (one on each side) on that same circuit as they do not come on with any switches either?

The round lights (sometimes called scare lights) are both on the same switch on my 2011 3500RE.

There should be 2 brass contacts sticking out of the hinge side of the door near the bottom. They are spring loaded. Take a little emery paper and lightly clean the tips of the 2 contacts as well as the brass strip on the door frame that they press against when the door is closed.

Question... is you keyless entry the one with the numeric key pad or the FOB?

FOB. Really appreciate your input.

FOB. Really appreciate your input.

On the fob, there is a tiny button switch above the "lock switch". That tiny switch is the unlock. The light above the door can be either directly controlled by the cabinet switch or the lower switch. Is a blue light blinking? If yes, then the light is working on motion detection. Do a search on "blue light", we had fun with this last year. There is also a link to the users manual. I have had to replace that bulb once so far. I got an LED for the next time.

Thats what I assumed on the fob. So it must not be working. Locks but will not unlock. The blue light is blinking so I will start with cking bulbs in the overhead and scare lights. Thanks again

The company must use cheap bulbs I think our bulb was either DOA or close to it. The automatic light you turn off then on within 10 seconds to make it automatic.

Thanks Mikell. No one had mentioned that to me either. Instructions would be nice to have on these units and all their whiz-bang options.

Mikell thank you so much. I always have appreciated rv'ers and the passion for their units and working together. Makes it that much more enjoyable.
