We are getting ready to move in to our Montana 3625re 5th wheel while we demo our house inside. Will we be able to survive the winter?

You will but lots of propane to heat it. I would also put the pink styrofoam board around the underneath too

We plan on installing a 100# propane tank, enclosing underbelly & using the pink foam board, insulating windows & foaming all holes. Some are saying we are crazy but we don't want to live in the mess if the demo!

Forum. Near the beginning there are a couple of
threads that discuss the different approaches to
'hunkering down'. I spent a few winters here in
Central Utah where the temps can and do get
down into the -40's F and feet of snow at a time...
But, ... it's a dry cold :rolleyes:

Start now winter might only be 2 weeks away the way this year has been. Will your house still be somewhat liveable? Get 2 radiatior type electric heaters put one in the basement run it's own power cord from the house.Take a wall panel out between the basement and the netherlands and the heater in the basement will keep it all nice and warm and the bedroom floor will be nice and toasty. Put the other radiator type heater in the living room to keep the chill off. I'm north of ya and have been doing it for going on 4 winters now

House will be minimally heated & still have electric. Should we fill the pipe openings between the basement and inside the cabinets with foam or will that restrict heat Crome getting where we need it? I'm sue that since we are taking on this adventure it will be the worst winter ever!

If you are in southern Indiana near us, last winter was nothing. Don't forget to put some heat tape on your water lines/hoses.

Clear the basement and climb in during the day and look for light getting and stuff it with insulation of some sort. take the walls off going under the trailer first and you will be there a while plugging holes. Get some foam board as thick as you can and glue it to the backside of the propanr tank areabecause thats just a tin wall between the basement and the cold.

every unit will be different so just keep looking for places to insulate but remember the basement and crawl space need heat and a radiator type oil filled heater is the safest way to heat it. If it's set to keep it from freezing it might not stay cold enough long enough for the heater to keep it from freezing
