I have a Suburban SW6DE water heater. It works on electric but won't fire up on propane. I was told it was the gas solenoid valve....put that in.still won't light! Full propane tanks and the ignitor is working. Checked #4 terminal and am not getting voltage. If I hook it up to a different 12 volt source...the solenoids click to open and the heater fires right up. Any ideas??

Check the fuses in the converter panel, the one that powers the heater may be blown or missing! The fuses should be labeled (the key word here is "should").

You also need to check the wires in the circuit breaker for the heator.
They can sometimes corrode or become loose.
Good luck.

All fuses are good and also marked. All wires are good to the water heater...no corrosion. Its an 07 Couger.

If it will work on another 12v source and all fuses are in and good then you have a break in the 12v source leading to the water heater, it could be as close as the wire at the fuse in the power converter or anywhere along the wire starting at the connector at the valve, a simple "wire hawk" probe can detect 12v's along the wire for as far as is accessible. Here's a link to the "Wire Hawk": http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=4288

Look for a reset button on the heater. They are usually covered with rubber and just appear to be a round dot.
