Hi Everybody!
Has anybody else had issues with the refrigerators in the passports?
I can't get mine to go above 31 degrees. Everything on the top shelf keeps freezing. I've adjusted the slider on the fin inside the frig as far down as I can but it won't get any colder. Any suggestions?
Thanks! Pat

Have you tried one of the battery operated fans to move the air around. Most folks complain not cold enough. .....Hank

I’ve not tried measuring the temperature, but nothing freezes on my top fridge shelf. However, sometimes my fins get some ice on them.

F6bits, I'm assuming we have the same frig (Dometic mod#DM2652LBX), Can you just confirm with me that moving the slider control down the fin will make it warmer? If says "warmer" on the bottom of my slide and "Cold" at the top. Maybe I'm doing it wrong. What can I say, I'm a beginner. hahaha

Would appreciate it! Thanks

I don’t know which end is up on that thing. Mine fell off once, so I’m not even sure if it’s on the right fin. The manual is of no help either. Maybe someone here knows the proper way to set that thing up. I know the wall of the fridge tells you which way is warmer and cooler, but I don’t remember, even though I was just looking at it a few hours ago.

Ok, Thanks. Yeah, those instructions aren't worth the paper they're printed on.
I'm really trying to avoid taking it into the dealer. That would be a pain as we all know. Thanks again.

You have the "slider" (Thermistor) figured out correctly. It may not be working correctly. Like I mentioned before, many folks (myself included) use a small battery operated fan to circulate the cold air around.

My fridge hasn't worked from day one! Bought my Passport im May, this year, and is finally supposed to be fixed this week, I HOPE! I would have loved 31 degrees.

Mine works, now you guys are going to make me go out and look at this "slide" thing. I hate the internet...:)
My freezer draws a vacuum when you close it. You can hear it. Need to take it in.

It’s normal for the freezer, and sometimes the fridge, to draw a vacuum. Cold air condenses, so as the fridge/freezer cools and the warm stuff you have cools down, the door seals shut with a vacuum.

But I can't get it open...

I figured out my problem re: the frig getting too cold on the upper shelves. Apparently there is a wire looking thing that comes out of the back of the refrigerator and attaches to the slide on the blade in the refrigerator. Well, the tip of that wire should connect with the blade and that sends a signal to the thermostat as to the temperature of the frig. Apparently when I picked up my trailer from the dealership, nobody found it necessary to connect that wire to the slider on the blade. Thus my frig was constantly running because it wasn't sure how cold it was. Problem solved! Now my last problem (for now) is with my anti sway system from Equalizer. I will post a separate post with that.

Thanks to everyone that offered their help. It is much appreciated. I love this forum.
