Hello from Oregon

Greetings,

I'm new to the forum and relatively new to RV'ing. We bought our first RV back in August and since I already had a suitable TV we went with a fiver. It was a leftover 2010 Outback 30', brand new and went on our first RV experience that same month out to southeastern Oregon and Idaho with zero issues despite 100° temps. Then on one of our trips earlier this year I blew the head gaskets on my 6.0L :banghead:. Long story short I dumped it and got a new rig. I just now got my hitch installed and have enough miles on her for our first trip after 4th July.

I'm hoping some seasoned RV'ers from the Northwest can share some good campground locations.

Very nice looking combination - especially the truck! If you want to inquire about campgrounds in the PNW, you might want to place an inquiry about that in our Campground section of the forum. Welcome to the group.

Welcome from here also, and yes a very nice looking set up. That new ford is definitely better than the old 6.0/enjoy. Depending how far east you want to go, there are several campgrounds along the Columbia River. We camp alot at Boardman Oregon Marina RV Park, also just east of Pendleton at emigrant springs and we are currently at Wallowa Lake. Also Crow Butte near Patterson Washington, and Umatilla RV park on the river near the marina. Make sure you make a reservation at any campground as in the summer time they tend to be quite busy. Thanks all! Yea, I've found early reservations are a must. We are staying at Wallowa Lake for several days in late august. Boardman looks really nice. I'll have to check them out.

crow butte is a nice camp ground, just watch were you put down your foot. that's right, there are snakes about. watch your kids and your dog too. there are coyotes around the CG looking for free food. I have camped there many a time and I keep a sharp eye out. Boardman has had a problem with snakes in the past, Both cg's are right on the river and surrounded by sage brush. this is good cover for varmints.

Nice Truck, was a Ford Man became a Cummins man, the Dodge came with it!

Well here in the NW Diesel is running about the same as Gas lately, with mileage both loaded and unloaded diesel is still a good option JMO.
