What type of wax are you using

JUST PURCHASED A 2012 premier 29RTPR JUST WONDERING WHAT CLEANERS YOU ARE USING ON NEW TRAILERS.WHAT TYPE OF WAX ALSO,IT IS FIBERGLASS WITH A GEL COAT FRONT.

Well I use good old Turtle wax paste wax. Plan on doing "Wax on, Wax off" during our two weeks on the Oregon coast.

I wait until a local RV dealer has a special on waxing, and let them do it. Last year one shop had a online coupon for $2.50/linear foot. I'ts worth it to me...

Hey Guys,
I'm not knocking anyone's choice of wax they use on their RV, we all know "car" wax is not good for the vinyl graphics on our RVs. It makes them dull, peel, crack, etc... on a previous post I discussed my choice and it is safe for the entire RV, it is 303 Protectant. If interested and can't find that thread, PM me & I'll send you the info.
I put 303 protectant in the search engine and found several posts on the product and not one negative remark.

I didn’t realize that 303 was also a cleaner. Nu Finish at least gets the remainder of the black streaks off after I wash the trailer.

Someone on another forum recommended Gel-Gloss which I tried. It is available at Lowes in a rattle can. It worked great! Very easy to just spray on, smear around, let haze and then easily wipe it off. No vigorous rubbing. It left my trailer looking new. It has carnauba wax and is made for gel coat among other things. Try it and I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I was.

Try Meguiar's Boat / RV line. I'm using #56 (Pure Wax) right now. I might go the cleaner wax and/or polish route if needed in the future.

I'm sure there are MANY options that work just fine. It's all in personal preference. I agree that using an auto wax could be questionable, so I choose to use something formulated for fiberglass; not metal. Also, since I'm covering so much area on my 32' TT, I like using my DA buffer. Speeds up the process.

Good luck in whatever you decide. And thumbs up on the 303. That stuff is great. I use it for other applications.....just not as my primary exterior fiberglass protectant.

Have not had any problems with car wax fading the decals. We use the turtle wax soap with wax for washing, then once or twice per year I use the same turtle spray wax that I do on all our cars, tie a cloth on an extension wash brush and do best to coat. Anyone having the time, energy and ambition to paste wax an SRX, well done, have at it.:cool:

I use Nu Finish

X2- very easy to work with. I do the entire thing 1x year and the front cap 2 to 3x year. I use turtle Ice on the lower aluminum textured skirting as it didn't leave traces of polish in the rough finish and shines it up nicely.

The 303 protectant is that just a spray wax or do they make a paste wax and how often do you apply it.i would like to keep the decals looking good and not peeling.

Check out the 303 website. It works like a spray wax, but it is a totally different chemistry. Think of it as more of a sun screen for your RV. Spray on, wipe off, and leave a shine plus a layer of protection. It is fast and easy once you get the hang of it - don't need to use very much.

The secret is to keep up on the finish and not let it get bad. Once the fiberglass or decals start to oxidize from the sun, it is hard to bring them back.

303 is not a wax. It is a liquid protectant with UV inhibitors. Its like sunscreen for whatever you put it on. It is similar to Armor All, but it does not leave that greasy residue. 303 is a superior product in my mind.
