I have an '07 292 RKS Cougar and I can't find any info on what amp fuse to use for the landing gear. I ask because someone before me has put a 35 amp mini fuse in the standard blade fuse holder. Anyone know the correct amperage? Thanks....Dick

As near as I can tell it should be a 30 amp fuse, if it's using #10 wire it's 30 amps for sure.

I looked at the wire, and unless it has really thick insulation, it might even be #8 wire. I imagine someone blew a fuse and wanted to make real sure they didn't blow another one.

If it's #8 wire then its good for 40 amps. Remember, the fuse is there to protect the wire, not the device that works off the end of it (per the National Electrical Code), if this wasn't so then you would have to carry a pocket full of fuses to plug in for the current draw of the device that you are using.

I went out and peeled back the corrugated spiral wrap and right there in front of God and everybody the wire said it was 10 AWG; my DW says I'm not very observant, and she just might be right!

My 327 res along with many others have trouble with the fuse for the landing gear blowing and these are 30 amp. I just recently installed a reseting fuse so if I am not paying attention or something and raise the gear to far it will reset itself.

My 2011 292RKS came with a 30 amp fuse in it.

My 2010 springdale 5er had a 30amp mini buried behind batterys. I moved it to the locker with the control switch.----LOU--------

I have a 2010 Cougar 292 RKS. The other day my wife accidentally bottomed out the landing gear. Since that time we have been unable to operate the landing gear or either slideout with the manual switches. Works fine on the remote due to the dual path. All of the fuses that I can find are good and the switches have power to them. Have checked inside the wiring loom that I can see and cannot find another fuse. From the other posts I get the impression that there must be one somewhere. Anyone have any ideas that may get me started inthe right direction? Thanks

Rechecked the voltage coming out of the top of the black box that controls the slideouts and landing gear via the remote control. This was the point that the wires go to the manual switchs. Must have misread my volt meter the last time because there was no voltage at this point this time. Must have fried something inside the box when the landing gear was bottomed out. Moved the wires to the input side of the box and piggybacked them with the wires coming from the battery and the slideouts and landing gear all work now. Never did find a fuse a 30 amp fuse in this circuit so will install a 30 amp fuse inline where I can see it.

My inline 30amp fuse is located in the front compartment just above the batteries in a black rubber holder with a cap.

My fuse is located in the wire loom on the pink wire that goes to the landing gear motor.

My '11 Springdale doesn't have one visible but Lippert says there should be a 30 amp breaker on the power side??
