How do you get the TV to work

I'm almost embarrassed to ask but I can not for the life of me get the Jensen TV to work with the attached antenna. I get a message that says "No Signal". I'm in an area that I have a signal and the TV works fine playing a DVD thru the stereo system. I'm guessing that the antenna is routed through the stereo system somehow and I simply don't have the right combo of things turned on but then again maybe not. I did turn on the antenna signal booster but nothing. I really hate not being able to see the wires or may have been able to figure this out. Please help!

You need to set the tv to the correct input. Sounds like it is set to the DVD input and when you turn the DVD player off it shows no signal.
There are probably a few input choices. Cable, air antenna, DVD. It may also be AV, AV 1 or something like that.

Once you get signal to the TV, then you need to go into the TV's menu and have it scan for new channels. You'll have to do that every time you get to a new location and want to watch TV.

You shouldn't feel embarrassed. Depending upon the brand of TV and what, if any, instructions came with it, it is a test of one's patience - or lack of. It's probably not the antenna booster or any wiring problem. It's a matter of programming the TV with your remote to receive the stations that are "out there" somewhere.
When we go to a new location, the fun begins. My wife usually vacates the RV - fearing for her own safety.
If I am lucky, it may take one attempt to get to the AUTO CHANNEL SEARCH stage.
I won't bother going through all of the steps that I have to go through ---- SOURCE, TUNER, MENU, DOWN ARROW, SETUP, RIGHT ARROW, UP ARROW.......... getting the picture? No, because there isn't any d**n picture!
My heartfelt sympathy is extended. I love it when I get to "Select Channel to Watch". My wife, by this time has disappeared leaving me to chose and watch one of three possible channels - all of which are snowy.
The solution? Bring a pile of DVD's or a good book.

I'm feeling a bit better. I was able to figure this part out and selected "Air", which I hope was correct? I did get a message that said that I needed to scan and was able to get it to do that as well but after the scan it came back with 0 channels found. That is when I started thinking it somehow was routed through the stereo system. So... was Air the correct selection?

There is an amplifier between the TV and the antenna. On it, you'll find a small switch. Turn it on and you'll see a small green (or red) LED. That's your sign that the amplifier is on. After that, do a channel search on the TV and you should get some channels. You may also have to turn the antenna to point to the general direction of the stations if you are a long distance from the transmitters. If you can't find your Antenna amplifier, follow the coax cable from the back of the TV. It should lead you directly to the amplifier. It's a small white panel mounted on the wall, probably close to the stereo.

ADDED: I looked at the pictures of the entertainment center on the Keystone website and the amplifier switch is on the curbside cubbyhole next to the radio/DVD player. Make sure it is turned on and you should get TV.

1) Is the antenna up?
2) If so, how about turning it 90°?
3) Is the antenna plugged into the TV?

Hopefully it’s a good cable run. I suppose you could put an ohm meter on it, but I don’t know what the reading should be. Somewhat closed, I expect. If you can’t get to the cables, take the mirror off the back side. That’ll give you access to check out cables or unscrew the TV mount.

Yes selecting AIR was correct. But you still have to select TV ... if you were able to watch a DVD one of the VIDEO feeds are selected and must be changed to TV. NOW comes the pain in the butt part EVERY TIME you move the antenna you must AUTO SCAN again. If the digital channels in your area are on UHF (most are) aiming can be very critical. If you are testing it from home or someplace that has a street address ANTENNA POINT (http://www.antennapoint.com/) may help with the direction to point the antenna. Good luck, Hank

I'm not sure but I think it may have had something to do with how I selected "TV". In any event, although it's a rarity I ever turn it on, it seems to be working and I thank you all for your suggestions.
