We finally did it! We traded in our popup, that we loved,"bouncey: on a new Keystone Passport 2650BH model. We just got it two weeks ago from Evans RV in Petersburg, In. Very nice people. We took it out the first weekend and are going Memorial weekend. We have a big trip planned in a few weeks to the Smoky Mountains. We are very excited and if anyone has any ideas and or suggestions, please let me know! I will be pulling it with my 2006 Chevy 5.3L 4WD Z71 with tow pkg.

If you want some ideas, head over to modmyrv.com and check out some of the easy mods people have been doing. If yours doesn’t have the digital thermostat, that’s probably the first thing I upgraded.

What hitch setup did you get for weight distribution and sway control?

I already have the dig with some sort of torsion barsital thermostat and I have the EZ Fastway hitch with torsion bars. Nice setup!

Sorry for the mess up, I already have the digital thermostat and I have the EZ Fastway hitch with some sort of torsion bars. They told me they were new to them, but seems to pull real nice!

Congratulations on your new RV and welcome to the forum. If you have any questions, please post them in the appropriate category as they will most likely get the best exposure and better chances of responses.

That's where we got our passport 3180RE. We love it and the Evan's were great, down to earth honest people. No pushing sales people there. Where are you heading for Memorial Day? We'll be at Harmonie state Park.

That is a nice unit. The lot we went to was sold out. That how I ended up with the 32 foot bunkhouse. I really feel the Passport are pretty good deal for the money!

Hi All,
They great thing about this kinda forum is how we come across people with a lot in common. We also finally upgraded our "trial" Coleman pop-up camper with Passport 2650bh. The bunk bed, slide out and lite weight made this the most suitable TT within our price range. Our TV is a 2011 Tahoe with HD trailering package and there was another thread that cleared up my worries about towing etc.

I'm glad we started with a pop up or it would have been very overwhelming although there is a lot to learn with the TT. We're going camping this weekend and very glad that it has AC since we're expecting 90s and humid up here in MN.

Later...

I'm sure you'll enjoy your first weekend outing in your new Passport. The single A/C unit should be able to keep that sized TT cool enough in those high temps. If you can, find a shady spot and if you have time, put some reflective window covering in places where the sun might be shining directly on them for an extended period of time.
These first days will give you an opportunity to learn more about your TT and get used to your new surroundings and added features.
Welcome to the forum and hope you have a very enjoyable weekend!

Just bought a new 2650BH. Anyone tried playing DVD's thru the flat panel TV internal speakers yet? The dealership tells me that RVs in the industry only allow broadcast signals to play through the internal speakers. But DVDs won't, that sound only comes from the ceiling speakers in the living room.

I just posted this question in the tech section and am getting the same confirmations, DVD thru speakers only and tv broadcast through tv speakers. Check out the other thread to follow updates. Also, we too just got the 2650BH.

check out my update in another thread on this. Its great to lay in bed watching DVDs but hearing only a distant murmer from the living room speakers. I'm not sure which thread it was maybe service?
