Hello, I have been lurking around for a few days and just made the decision to buy a 2012 Cougar X-Lite 29RBK. This is a big upgrade for us coming from a 2008 Starcraft 2700BH.

I just wanted to say hello.

Thanks,
Chris

:wlcm: Glad to have you with us.
And congrats on the new TT.
There is a lot of good information here and plenty of people willing to help with any question you may have.

Outdoor kitchen. Nice! And I sure like the bunk houses…great for kids to grow up with.

I am trying to figure out why on the website, it shows 1 grey water tank at 28 gallons, but when I was looking at the side of the coach it has two grey dump valves on the side. I wonder if it's 2 tanks with 28 gallons each or 2 tanks with 14 gallons each.

One of the gray tank valves is for your waste kitchen sink water, the other for your shower/bathroom sink waste water. You should have two separate tanks each with a capacity of 28 gallons. There should also be another valve for your black tank /toilet waste.

Welcome! It's a great looking floor plan, especially for kids. As older travelers we don't need the bunks (the two of us and two Westies.) I suspect it has one grey water tank - never heard of any 14 gal ones. Our smaller RV was selected because my wife liked the floor plan. However, I prefer to stay at the more primitive sites so the 60 gal grey water tank was especially important to me.

Hi Chris,

Keystone typically lists the gray water amount as a 'total'... if 2 gray tanks exist, the 'total' amount is
usually divided equally between the two. That said, it's unlikely there would be 2-14 gal tanks on a 33 ft trailer.

Check your monitor panel... are there 2 separate gray tanks shown? Galley & Gray?? If so, then it's apparently a
typo/error in the specs given that all of the 2012 & 2013 XLite travel trailers list either 28 'or' 56 gal gray.

Hope this helps & welcome to the forum.

Thank you for your replies. I must be an idiot though. When we were looking at TT's I could have swore that the set up for the tanks were the same between the two that we narrowed it to. The 28RBS has two grey tanks (56 gallons total) and the 29RBK has one (28 gal). The weird thing is, the 29RBK has a rear kitchen, you would think that would have the two tanks, but who knows. Also. The black and grey water valves are labeled incorrectly.

The other thing I just realized today, the dump valve is in front of the tires. This concerns me quite a bit because I have quite a hill where I store it, and I would be concerned about something hitting it. I guess we shall see what happens the first time I back into the driveway.

Congrats Chris! We recently got that same camper. We are doing the maiden voyage this weekend. Can't wait! We stepped up from a Coleman pop-up so this will be high living in comparison.

That's great!! I picked mine up tonight. PDI went well. There are a few little things that need to be corrected, some of which they fixed on the spot. My dealer told me to make a list on our first outing, which will be on the 30th of this month and let him know.

I came out of a TT and this one has a little less outside storage than my old one did, but I realized how much stuff I had jammed in the old one. This coming weekend will be a chore of streamlining things, and finding the proper home for new stuff. It took me 2.5 hours to change out of our other one. Had I known I would have been buying a new TT when I took it in for service 2 weeks ago, I would have removed most of my stuff.

Good luck on your outing, I hope your trip (and mine) will be trouble free.

I like the rear kitchen setup, my wife just wishes that it came with a microwave back there. But I can find a small MW for 50-100, so it's not a big deal. I really hope we use the outdoor kitchen feature quite a bit.
