Congrats on the diesel truck, but I would like to give you a heads up on the 6.0L. They have had HUGE issue with the EGR system, blown head gasket's and melted motors, just go to YouTude and there are tons of video's of people having all kinds of problems with the newer Powerstrokes, the 6.4L wasn't much better, it has poor fuel mileage and is know to burn exhaust valves, then they moved on to the 6.7L where they are having a problem with melting parts also. Ford has ruined the Powerstroke name IMHO the last of the great Powerstrokes are the 7.3L from International, granted the new trucks look awesome but there is no way in heck that I'd buy one unless I could put a 7.3L in it.

If you want some info on Powerstroke trucks do a search for Powerstroke Help his name is Bill Hewett, he's right here in Buford Georgia.

Im familiar with the issues of the 6.0.Thanks.I have Already ordered the Sinister coolant filter kit. With 20,000 miles on it adressing these issues now should give me a good chance of having a reliable truck.I don't know much about desiels but I can allways learn. Most of what Ive read about is connected to cooling system failures.I'll start there and work my way in. Hey Desiel Dude , Love your truck. Looks like I'll be sending some business your way.

Does that kit delete the EGR parts??? It seems that's where alot of the problems accure, IMHO keeping clean oil, fuel, and coolant, and have a easy foot will go along way to help your truck last forever.

Sounds like you already have. Let me know if you have any questions about it or anything else 6.0 related.

The coolant filtration system does just that filters the coolant. It is a very important component to 6.0 reliability.

I added a coolant filter kit to my duramax when I bought it. Changed it every 10K for the first 20K miles and it did trap a fair amount of very fine stuff, as advertized, from the sand casting debris. After that it catches some stuff but change it every 20K miles. Coolant is very clear (well, dexcool orange), not cloudy like unfiltered radiator fluid. I bought it mostly to see if it would help on maintaining the water pump and water pump seals. So far at 110K miles all's well.

I just bought the coolant filter kit for now.My first concern is to get the garbage that clogs up the EGR cooler and oil cooler out. then flush out the Ford gold coolant whih will gel up over time like the Dex cool junk.I had to get that stuff out of my suburban. Im hoping to buy some time till I have to replace the two coolers but I bet the damage is already done at 20,000 mi.I will get that kit next and do them both at the same time.you are right though.Taking care of it will help alot. Im very big on maintenence.

Thanks,

Just that it will break down over time and begin to jell like the GM Dex Cool.Have to keep it fresh or flush it and replace it.I've seen and flushed the Dex Cool jelly. If the Ford Gold is gonna do the same thing It's not going to be in mine long enough to help plug up the EGR and oil coolers. If it only happens to 3 out of 10 people, history has shown me that I will be one of the 3. LOL.Just an ounce of prevention.
