LED Lights

Here's another question for the experts. Can LED lights be put into the fixtures that are already in place on the ceiling of my Cougar? Has anyone directly replaced the incandescent bulbs with LED's? and if so was the power savings worth the cost. I tend to dry camp over 3 to 4 day weekends. I'm trying to reduce generator use.

I installed 36LED panels in place of each of my incandescents. They use less than half the energy and put out better light for us.

The picture of the item is pretty yellowed. The lights actually put out more of a halogen-white color. Very bright white, bordering on a very slight hint of blue.

I replaced all of mine with similiar LEDs as Sdayman. I can't tell you about the power savings but these LEDs do not put out the heat as the stock ones do. The DW and I like them much better.

It cost me around $100 to all of them. I changed half the trailer at a time. The first bunch was to test out the look. I ordered the second batch right after the install.

I would do it again without second thoughts.

If you do a bunch of dry camping and don't use genset, they are definitely going to help you keep light around a large unit. Try them out first though, we like the cool blue, some prefer the warmer type.

We are gradually replacing all of our overhead lights with LED.
110 lumens, cool white. Each tower shaped light has 9 LEDs with the wedge type base (921/T15)
We get them from a local RV store - she gets them from Ming's Mark Inc.
They don't sell direct but you can visit their website.
These are 360 deg lights that plug right into the existing socket.
No tape, velcro, or jumper wires and brighter (to us) than the stock bulbs
$10.00 per bulb

Yes. Mine are the T10 base. Keep in mind that LEDs need the correct polarity. If you plug a bulb in and it doesn’t work, flip it around and try again.

Yes, just plugged them in all except the bathroom bulbs which are different. If I remember right, I paid $5.95 per/bulb, all of them are working with no problems.

Mind if I ask where you got them at that price. Seems pretty good compared to what I've been seeing.

The price is $4.88 each with free shipping. Essentially the same panel at CW is $25. There's a big price difference from buying overseas and buying stateside. From what I can tell, there's no significant difference in the product, just in the price. The ones at CW, if you turn the package over have "made in China" printed on them.

I ordered 10 X BA9S/921/Festoon Dome Bulb 15-5050 SMD LED, White from Ebay for $43.80 Free shipping. Received them in 10 days. installed them in 5 of the 12 dual fixtures I have in my cougar. I placed 1 set in the entry, 1 set by the rear kitchen, 1 set over the lav sink, 1 set in the head, and the last over the center of the bed. The lights are brighter then the standard bulbs and are white, the standard bulbs are yellowish. They were simple to install, just a minor problem with the wires being in the right place on the plastic plug that goes into the fixture. Also there is a polarity thing. If the light don't light flip the plug. Next is to order more and finish the job. Only ordered 10 to make sure they worked. "bouncey::bdance:
