Does anyone know what material the Kitchen Counters are made of that are installed in the 2012 Cougar 327RES? They are black with white speckles.

I kave a 2010 Fuzion with the same color counter tops b;ak with white speckles. I was told it was Corian. But can't be sure my 3400RL Montana had a insert that said Corian. George

we put the crock pot on ours and it turned the black to a nice oval shaped gray spot. have tried about everything to polish it out no luck. If anyone has any fix more than willing to try.

I had a similar post (http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=4687) just after we purchased our 331MKS. The counter top material is very easily scratched and certainly isn't Corian. It's also not a laminate, but instead a poured resin material.

Well, last year I installed a matching color counter-top extension next to the sink. The DW is very satisfied with the added counter. Oh.....underneath the top surface is particle board.

If you feel the underside of the kitchen counter, it feels like fiberglass.
Whatever it is...It sure does scratch easy. I have buffed mine with polishing compound and got pretty good results removing scratches.

For as much as we paid for our 327RES, I am very disappointed in the quality of the countertop. :(

I feel the same about a few things-counter top, mattress, tiny awning, refrigerator fan and other things. Just seems Keystone could have just as easily and without any added expense done a little better, but as we have been told the RVs are not made like a home, but.........where they come up with some of this stuff is beyond me! I still do love the floor plan of the 327RES, don't get me wrong.
I do agreee though for the money, seems they could have done a little better on some things.
We previously had a Cougar TT 24RKS and the counter tops amd mattress was better than our new 327.
I picked up a couple of mats that are really supposed to be used for dish drying, kind of padded, and use them on the counter to try to protect it, and seems to be doing the trick for now! Just have to be careful.
