Just picked up a 2001 281 EFS. Coming from a 21' bumper pull, this thing is like a palace. I tow with a tired old 1997 F-350 diesel.

I am searching this forum for basic info on the trailer. It came with no manuals except one for the refrigerator. Does anyone have more detailed information on this trailer? I don't know what the "heat" switch on the status panel does, nor the switch near the sink in the front bed area with the red light.

Thanks

Tony in Abilene

Welcome to the forum. If you are referring to the switch labeled "HTR" next to the PUMP switch it is to control the water heater in gas mode. Without a photo (or better description) I can't help with the other. All manuals are available online by going to the manufacturers of each appliance. I hope this helps. Travel safely, Hank ...................... HERE is the 2011 manual (http://www.keystonerv.com/media2/manual/Owners_Manual_2011.pdf) for all Keystone trailers. They do not make "Model specific" manuals. If you want a manual for your year you can request one from Keystone customer service online but it will be very similar to the 2011 manual.

I take it the selling entity did not give you a walk-around.

Welcome to the forum Tony,

That's a Cougar (281EFS)... correct??

The floorplan isn't archived, but some of the specs are available on the Keystone site.
Plus, I found some online ads with photos for reference... much easier to answer questions. ;) :)

281EFS Specs
Shipping Weight N/A
Carrying Capacity 2914 lbs
Dry Hitch 1420 lbs
Length 30' 10"
Width 8'
Height 11' 10"

As Hank said, most of the appliance manufacturers have online instructions & info now.
For example: your awning is most likely from A & E (Dometic). Dometic also makes other
RV components - refrigerators, microwaves, toilets, air conditioners, etc.

Your furnace, water heater & stove, etc might be from Suburban, but you may also need the
model #'s in order to locate the correct info. http://www.rvcomfort.com/suburban

The first ad (photo #40 & 42) shows a switch to the right of the bath sink... none of the other
ads show a switch in that same location. Photo #20, 21 and 39 shows other switches (near entry
door) & possibly the 'status panel' you referred to (near the stove/refrig).
