Hello everyone, the wife and I just sold our house here in Indiana, and we are moving to Texas. We are going to be without a mailbox for 3 or 4 months. Does anyone have any recomendations for a mail forwarding company. And do I just put in a change of address from my Indiana address to the mail forwarding address. Thanks for the help. :bdance:

Well thats true but we are not sure yet what part of Texas we are going to buy a new home. And we wont be in Texas untill a month after we close the house in Indiana. take our time to get to Texas then we have two different areas we are looking at to buy a new home. Alot of things are set for electronic e-mail but still we got one or two that dosn't do that.

What I have done in the past and am doing now is this.

Go to your local PO and have them place your mail on HOLD.

When you get to the first area you want to explore, Submit a forwarding to the GENERAL DELIVERY at THAT PO. Should be good for 30 days. The PO is cracking down on long term GD's.

If you decide to go to the other area, Have the Hold put on your mail again
BACk AT HOME. When you get to the second area, get back on Gen. Del. you now have another 30 days to check things out..

Your Home PO will forward for 6 months. Each time you start another forward it starts the 6 month clock again.....

Since you are moving to Texas you might look at the Escapees mail forwarding service. The Texas DMV even considers it a valid address for registration purposes.
