Diamond Plate

I am thinking of installing some diamond plate underneath the front of my Alpine. I had it on my tt and it protects from rock and debris kicked up by the rear tires. Anyone done this to their fiver?

I also want to use diamond plate but on the rear where the slide out cargo/bike carrier is. Anything I put back there seems to rub into the fiberglass. My biggest question is how would we mount diamond plate to the fiberglass? Heavy liquid nails and caulk or screws into ???:confused:

I've already got the diamond plate for my 331MKS to do the same mod this spring. I ordered the 0.024" sheet of metal from http://www.cutsmetal.net.

I'm having the parts cut using a water jet and then screwed directly to the front of the trailer. I plan to use an industrial strength construction adhesive to attach the diamond plate to the forward hatch.

I put some diamond plate on my last TT I put a piece of rolled up towards top front of roof and on bottom front end of trailer, I used a two sided tape made from 3M I put it around entire perimeter edge about an 1/8 inch from edge and every 12 inches I put a strip from top to bottom.The tape is not cheap and I'm not quite sure what the name of it is but I'm sure if you searched 3M you will find it. The stuff is incredible and I just cleaned the fiberglass real good first and the took some alcohol wipes around the outer perimeter and the stuff sticks like you would not believe, just make sure you put it where you want it the first time. I will search and see if I can find the name of it and report back.

As sdayman said above that is what I used,I used the red labeled stuff the thinnest mil,the stuff is incredible, I would recommend doing this when it is warm,but like I said make sure it is wher you want it cause there's no moving it after and for a little extra sense of security I drilled the four corners and installed some stainless screws in there with some clear silicone and had no problems,hope this helps!

Can you cut this stuff with a cutting shears? I hate scrubbing asphalt from fiberglass. Can you use a power washer with some pressure on this stuff to clean it?

Would mudflaps make a difference and be easier to install? Have to admit tho that the diamond plate looks much sweeter.
