It's basically the reverse process of winterizing.

Ok thanks. But I didn't do the winterizing so I will have to figure that out too. We just bought the TT a month ago so I'm new to rving.

OK, to learn more about winterization, you can search on that that word as well. There are hundreds of good articles on the net about the process. Dewinterizing is simply undoing the winterizing work.

(FWIW, RV's are all pretty much the same when it comes to plumbing systems, electric systems, etc. so the info from a Sunline article like this will 100% apply to your Keystone.)

I'm in the same boat, but a stop by my dealer on the way up north to de-winterize is 65 bucks, along with checking my seals on my roof. Same for winterizing on the way back from a trip in September, along with conditioning the roof and re-sealing anything. 65 dollars. Good piece of mind so 130 dollars a year is nothing for an expensive toy hauler.:)

That's not a bad idea. I just wish there was a dealer closer to me. The nearest dealer is 75 miles away and I don't plan on going that way camping any this year.

Yeah, I just bought a new Keystone Outback 23RS Toyhauler from the dealer that happens to be right on the way to my specific ATV/Hunting area. So it works out well for me.

It is not a hard job.First you fill your fresh water tank then turn on the water punp and turn on your faucets one at a time until ther is no more pink coming out,then go to the water heater and switch it from bypass to normal,then drain the waste water out of the tank.It won't hurt anything then you are done till winter,good luck and happy camping.:)

One other thought here....

Any responsible dealer will include winterizing and dewinterizing information with the sale of the RV. They should also show you where all the valves and drains and stuff are, too. This should be part of the PDI!

If they don't offer the info, ask! Make them show you how to do it and all the particulars.

When we bought our trailer, the tech asked how experienced we were with RV's and in particular, winterizing. Since I have owned TT's for 40 years now, we and he agreed to skip winterizing specifics during the walk through, but he did make a point of showing me where everything is located for winterizing and noted differences on the newer rig.

What about he city water connection. Do I need to flush that line out also. And what about this bypass on the hot water heater? I'm not quite sure where that is located?

Purchased a new Keystone 248RKS in March 2012 and had a short session on de-winterizing with a tech at the dealer. He used a sketch. Went back to my job in Saudi Arabia and came back and now trying to de-winterize without dragging it 25 miles back up to the dealer. The sketch he drew shows three cut-off valves one for line into hot water tank, one for line out of hot water tank and then a master one at a junction between the two above. When I opened the access panel and looked through the 4 inch hole with a restricted view I only see one cut off valve and through a difficult process of twisting for different views I still see only the one valve. My assumption, based on the discussions above, is that there is only the one valve and all I have to do is flush everything and then turn that valve on. I my ***-u-me process correct?

On our '08 Cougar 278RKS, there is only the one cut-off valve for the HW tank so it is possible that you are looking for 2 valves which don't exist. Your set-up may be different but if there are 3 valves, they should all be located right next to each other and easily spotted.
